Although several days of the month have been too hot for going to the park, July is National Parks and Recreation Month. Mayor Sue Murray recently signed a proclamation that July is Parks and Recreation Month in the City of Greencastle. Friends of the Park marks the month with a number of activities, including a July 4 pancake breakfast, free ice pops at the park and an upcoming teen-only concert in Robe-Ann Park. Present for the proclamation were, from left, Jan Firebaugh of Friends of the Park, Mayor Murray and Joan Davis of Friends of the Park.
