Thursday, July 21, 2011

CLOVERDALE -- Cloverdale Community Schools have announced they will be providing registration during the Putnam County Fair.

Registration will also be provided at the Cloverdale Middle School cafeteria in August, as Cloverdale has in the past, for any students who do not register during the fair.

Dates for registration at the fair are Saturday, July 23-Tuesday, July 26 and Thursday, July 28-Friday, July 29 from 4-9 p.m.

Registration will be Aug. 4 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. in the CMS cafeteria. Registration for kindergarten and new students will be Aug. 5 and 6 in the individual buildings.

New students will need a copy of their birth certificate and immunization records. Proof of legal guardianship may be required. If registration is not possible on these days, please contact the individual schools to make other arrangements.

The students' first day will be Aug. 16 and lunch will be served.

All kindergarten students must be five years old on or before Aug. 1 to be eligible to enroll and must have a birth certificate and completed immunization record on file the first day of school. Parents need to bring their kindergartener with them at registration.

For the convenience of parents, Title I is once again holding its annual meeting during registration. The meeting will be a short session explaining the Voyager reading program, program requirements and how parents can get involved.

Textbook rental payments are due and payable at the time of registration and/or enrollment. Persons may receive textbook assistance if they qualify for free or reduced lunch based on federal free lunch guidelines. Free or reduced lunch applications will be available at registration.

Those who cannot pay their rental fees at the time of registration and do not qualify for the free or reduced lunch program can work with school officials to develop an approved payment plan. A $100 deposit is required the day of registration for any payment plan. VISA and Master Card will be accepted.

The primary textbook fees will be as follows: Kindergarten -- $87.95; Grade 1 -- $88.85; Grade 2 -- $69.80; Grade 3 -- $97.35; Grade 4 --$89.70; Grade -- $99.54, depending on electives taken; Grade 6 -- $143.50, depending on electives taken; Grade 7 -- $129-$160, depending on electives taken; Grade 8 -- $120-$158.

High school book rental and fees will depend on courses taken.

Student lunch prices this year will be $2.40 and $1.25 for breakfast at Cloverdale schools.
