Fairground Endowment kick-off great

To the Editor:

On Sunday, July 10, the Putnam County Fairgrounds Endowment Advisory Committee held the 2011 Putnam County Fair Kick-Off Party at the Putnam County Fairgrounds Community Building.

The event began with our emcee, Ken Torr, sharing a history of the fair with a high school term paper composed by Ethan Stephenson. Reflections of the Fair was given by Jim Baird and Stephanie Berry.

An overview of the new Putnam County Fairgrounds Endowment fund was given by Lauralee Baugh, Elaine Peck and Ray Poynter Jr. Al Harwood closed with information regarding the 2011 Putnam County Fair.

Ice cream sundaes were served by the Jolly Juniors 4H Club and entertainment provided by "Whatever Four."
