Grace Roseline (Bauer) Pena

Grace Roseline (Bauer) Pena, 80, Greencastle, died Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2011.

She was born in Indianapolis on June 1, 1931, the daughter of Henry and Halzie (Brackert) Bauer.

Although she was a homemaker most of her life, Grace had been employed by Indianapolis Public Schools as a crossing guard at Lemont School No. 3, a nurse's aide at Turtle Creek in Beech Grove and at Wendy's restaurant at Pilot Travel Center at I-465 and Harding Street.

Survivors include daughters Clemensia Jean Pena of Greencastle, Rosetta Jackson of Anderson, Sandra Amonette of Heritage Lake and Tamara Lagle of Indianapolis; son Prisiliano Pena Jr. of Indianapolis; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and brother Henry Bauer of New Orleans.

She was preceded in death by daughter Georgia Bach; grandchild Charles Pena, brother George Bauer and sister Wilma Jean Bauer.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18 at Weaver & Randolph Funeral Home, Danville, with visitation from noon until time of service. Burial will be at New Winchester Cemetery.
