Cougars drops match to Riverton Parke

MONTEZUMA -- The North Putnam girls' volleyball team lost to Riverton Parke in five sets. The Cougars lost 18-25, 10-25, 25-20 and 17-25.

North Putnam head coach Jill Schreiber said two holes in the squad didn't help in their first match of the season.

"Missing two starters did not help our first game jitters, however, we had some other players step up their play," she said. "We need to learn enthusiasm, especially when we are winning. We have talked about the level of play we want to play at. We know what we have to do. This team is very capable of having a winning season this year."
