Tiger Cubs tame Bulldogs in opener
The Greencastle boys' soccer team opened its season Tuesday with a 8-0 romp over Monrovia at home. Sonney Basham, Mitchell Ball and Brandon Query combined to score seven of the Tiger Cubs' eight goals.
Query scored two quick goals to get GHS going, with Basham scoring the next three goals. Jon Good closed out the Tiger Cubs' strong first half with a goal to put GHS up 6-0 at the half.
In the second half, Ball scored both of his goals to extend Greencastle's lead to its final tally of 8-0.
Head coach Dave Lilly noted sophomore Zane Miller got the start in the goal with freshmen Alex Briones and Mitchell Johnson also seeing some action. In all, 21 Greencastle players saw action on the night.
