St. Andrew's to host pondside service

As a chance to commune with God in nature, St. Andrew's Episcopal Church will continue its tradition of holding a "last of summer" worship service at the pond owned by Mark and Deb Smith. The service is slated for 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 28.

The pond is located off County Road 75 East from U.S. 231 North. Balloons will guide worshippers to the service County Road 75 is 0.9 miles north of the Putnam County Fairgrounds. Turn left into third driveway with sign "Hickory Hollow."

Following the service, there will be a pitch-in meal. All are invited to this joyous event.

St. Andrew's Episcopal Church is located at 520 E. Seminary St., at the intersection with Bloomington Sreet. On Sunday, Sept. 4, worship is at 10:15 a.m. and will include prayers for Social Justice.

Regular Sunday worship services, starting Sept. 11, are at 8 a.m. (Rite I) and 10:15 a.m. (Rite II with music). An adult forum meets at 9 a.m. between the two morning services. Christian education for children is offered at the 10:15 services. Coffee and fellowship follow the 10:15 service.

Wednesdays, beginning Sept. 14, 2011, Holy Eucharist is offered. Call the office for more information at 653-3921. All are welcome.
