Clovers improve to 4-2 on the season

DUGGER -- The Cloverdale volleyball team moved to 4-2 on the season after its win over Union Dugger Monday in three games. The Clovers won 25-18, 25-13 and 25-17.

Paige Gruener had a season-high 13 points, followed by Bristy Skiles with nine, Rebekah Jordan with seven and Bradanne Toney with five. Mariah Oetken and Lindsay Robson had three points each and Adri Patterson had one.

Toney led the Clovers with 18 kills, with Oetken adding eight and Patterson four. Taylor Jones had three kills, while Katie Fulkerson and Gruener had two each. Skiles chipped in one kill. Skills also had 19 set assists.

Jordan recorded six digs for the Clovers, with Jones, Skiles and Toney adding five. Gruener had three digs, Robson had two and Oetken had one dig. Oetken also had two blocks for Cloverdale.

"We played well. Our passing was better so we had many more kills," head coach Kathy Moore said.

The junior varsity improved to 5-1 on the season. Heather Goss had eight points, with Lexi Branneman adding five and Maddy Smith, Ali Nees and Jessica Winder adding four each. Megan Helterbrand had nine kills for CHS.
