Christian Alexander Watkins, 16, of Harmony, Ind., passed away Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011 following a tragic accident.

Christian was born Sept. 5, 1995 to parents Roy Eugene Watkins Jr. and Tessa Jo (Edwards) Bernard.

He attended North Clay Middle School where he was active in band, football and track. As an eighth-grader Christian was chosen to march with the state-winning Northview marching band.

Following middle school he attended Northview High School where he participated in band and track his freshman year. This year as a sophomore, he was on the band and football team.

Christian was a young man who enjoyed life. He was always texting his friends, enjoyed being on Facebook, hanging out with friends, but took the most pride in his family and being on a motorcycle, like his father.

Christian is survived by his father, Roy Watkins and Angie Haile; mother, Tessa Bernard and Eddie Kummer of Greencastle; grandparents, June Ann Kelsheimer of Washington, Ind., Roy Watkins Sr. of Brownsburg, Carol Ann Watkins of Indianapolis, Janice and Michael Cox of Brazil, George "Sonny" Edwards Jr., Bonnie and Jerry Kruse, and Michelle Edwards, all of Putnam County; great-grandmothers, Louise Stausholm and Anna Darlene Watkins of Brownsburg; aunts, Krystal Watkins, Alyssa Robinson and Alison Walton; uncles, Stephen Edwards, Cameron Watkins, Joe Kelsheimer and Reuben Edwards; brothers:, Logan Ross Watkins, Bryce Alexander Toppas and Gage Quinton Brewer; sisters, Hannah Suzanne Watkins and Terri Yvonne Watkins, as well as many friends, teachers, coaches and other people he has impacted over his time.

Services will be at Lawson-Miller Chapel at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15 with Doug Parkey officiating. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and on Thursday from 4 p.m. until time of service. The chapel will be available Thursday at 7:30 a.m. until time of service.
