A 48-year-old Gr-eencastle man was arrested and lodged in the Putnam County Jail Tuesday night for allegedly stealing a juvenile's scooter.

Larry E. Dickerson was arrested at 9:34 p.m. by Officer Eric Vaughan after reportedly taking a 2010 Renegade scooter from the front yard of a home in the 900 block of East Washington Street. The scooter was valued at $800, police said.

The scooter belongs to a 15-year-old who had left it in the front yard of a friend after having a flat tire earlier in the day.

Dickerson tried to convince police the bike had a "free" sign on it when it allegedly took it from the yard. He is being charged with theft.

Two recent traffic accidents were investigated by City Police officers.

-- At 9:14 a.m. Wednesday, a two-car accident occurred at Bloomington and Martinsville streets when a would-be good samaritan motioned Tasha Witt, 27, Cloverdale, out of Martinsville Street and in between stopped vehicles in the construction zone on Bloomington Street.

As she tried to cross over to the McClure station, Witt pulled her 1999 Chrysler 300 into the path of a southbound 1991 Honda Accord, driven by Keith Thornburgh, 25, Cloverdale.

Capt. Mike Hanlon estimated total damage at $2,500-$5,000.

-- At 4:13 p.m. Tuesday, a two-car accident was reported at Bloomington and Tennessee streets.

Officer Darrel Bunten reported that a 1994 Mercury Grand Marquis, driven by Holly R. Moore, 46, Greencastle, was stopped southbound, waiting to turn left onto Tennessee Street, when her car was struck from behind by a 2004 Chevrolet Classic, driven by Virginia Willey, 57, Cloverdale.

The collision resulted in a reported $2,500-$5,000 damage.

Moore was cited for having no insurance.

Willey complained of pain all over and was transported to Putnam County Hospital via Operation Life ambulance.

Putnam County Jail

Several recent arrests were reported by Putnam County Jail officials.

-- At 6:22 p.m. Tuesday, Amber Seketa, 25, Fillmore, was arrested on charges of visiting a common nuisance and possession of paraphernalia.

-- At 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Zachary Zain Marsee, 20, Coatesville, was arrested on two counts of burglary, theft and conspiracy to commit theft.

-- At 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, Kody Donald John Marsee, 18, Indianapolis, was arrested for possession of marijuana.

-- At 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, Thomas Walker Dobson, 28, Reelsville, was arrested for possession of marijuana.

-- At 9:10 a.m. Tuesday, Daniel Scott Hayes, 54, Greencastle, was arrested for violation of probation.

-- At 3:55 p.m. Monday, Mark Allen Finchum, 22, Greencastle, was arrested for violation of home detention.

-- At 3 p.m. Monday, Cory Michael Walker, 22, Cloverdale, was arrested on a warrant.

-- At 1:30 p.m. Monday, Michael Wayne Graham, 36, Seymour, was arrested on two counts of conspiracy to commit trafficking.

-- At 9:40 a.m. Monday, Marilyn Lou Mabe, 47, Greencastle, was arrested on three counts of theft and two counts of forgery.

-- At 1:22 a.m. Friday, Bryce Michael Tyler, 23, Greencastle, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

-- At 3:10 p.m. Sept. 8, William Eugene Cavaness, 32, listed as homeless, was arrested for probation violation.
