Cecil Dewayne Scott, 75, of Yorktown, Texas, died Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2011 at Citizens Hospital in Victoria, Texas.

He was born Dec. 7, 1935 in Cloverdale to Cecil and Clema (Rubeck) Scott.

He was raised in Owen and Putnam counties and was a 1954 graduate of Cloverdale High School.

He served in the United States Air Force, stationed in Anchorage, Alaska. He moved to Texas in 1980 and had lived there since.

He is survived by sons Mark Scott and wife Melony of Greencastle and Gary Scott and wife Susan of Hermitage, Ark.; daughters Diana Dugie and husband Mark of Yorktown and Debra Scarbro and husband Kevin of Denham Springs, La.; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters Pat Steele of Cataract, Shirley Taylor of Whiteland and Brenda Weekly and husband Wayne of Martinsville; and brothers Frank Scott and wife Cathy of Bloomington and Marvin Scott and wife Lee of El Campo, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 54 years Ida Mae Scott, an infant daughter and sister Barbara Herbert.

His body was donated for the purposes of medical research.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society.
