A Putnam County teenager is facing charges of battery and theft after a 12:15 p.m. incident Wednesday at the Greencastle Walmart store on Indianapolis Road.

Ryan Gardner, 18, Reelsville, was lodged in the Putnam County Jail Wednesday afternoon after county deputies apprehended him coming out of a cornfield near Ballard Lane and State Road 240.

Officer Ed Wilson investigated the incident for GPD.

Gardner reportedly took a belt from the men's department, put it on in a dressing room and tried to leave the store.

When he was reportedly confronted by a Walmart official, he allegedly shoved her and ran out, fleeing into the cornfield east of the store.

Three other recent arrests were reported by GPD officers.

-- At 1:31 a.m. Thursday, Natasha Sutton, 21, Cloverdale, was arrested by Reserve Officer Heath Smiley and lodged in the Putnam County Jail on a false informing charge.

-- At 6:45 p.m. Wednesday, Rena Alexander, 46, no known address, was arrested by Officer Darrel Bunten on the property of Hickory Creek at Sunset on a warrant for petition to revoke bond.

-- At 2 p.m. Wednesday, Alisha Kimes, 33, Bainbridge, was arrested at the Putnam County Courthouse by Officer Wilson for interfering with a drug test and a probation violation.

One recent traffic citation was issued by city officers.

-- At 12:10 a.m. Wednesday, Meggan Worley, 36, Greencastle, was ticketed by Officer Matt Huffman on Bloomington Street for an expired license plate.
