Cougar runners take on Eels, Clovers

EMINENCE -- The North Putnam coed cross country team took part in a three-way meet with Cloverdale and host Eminence Thursday.

Dalton Spear led the boys' squad with a second place finish with a time of 18:56, while Trenton Osborn was seventh in a time of 19:45. Jacob Hendershot was 13th with a time of 21:09.

The Cougars were able to take the 17th through 20th positions on the night as well. Joe Mindiola finishing 17th with a time of 21:51, Trebor 18th with a time of 22:31 and Chase Salyers 19th with a time of 22:56 and Michael Herrman was 20th with a time of 23:33. Nick Ballard rounded out the North Putnam runners with a 24th place finish with a time of 29:24.

For the girls, Alex Land finished eighth in a time of 28:58 and Claire Dean was ninth in a time of 29:14. Katie Douglas raced, but was unable to finish the event.

The Cougars will next compete at the Putnam County Meet next Tuesday at South Putnam with the boys set to begin at 5:25 p.m.

"These young men and women put a lot of work into what they do and I'm sure they'd love to have their school/community show some support by attending," head coach Kevin Lutes said.
