Friday, October 21, 2011

The Greencastle High School National Honor Society is teaming up with Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority to host a pumpkin-carving contest on Thursday, Oct. 27, beginning at 6 p.m.

Participants will be given one hour to complete a pumpkin before judging begins at 7:15 p.m.

Prizes will be awarded to the first-, second- and third-place winners from each of the following age groups -- elementary, middle school and high school and older.

There will be an entrance fee of $5 per family, and participants may bring their own pumpkin or purchase one at the contest.

Competitors must also bring their own safety pumpkin carving utensils or markers (for elementary students only). The contest will be held in the multi-purpose room at Greencastle High School.
