Halloween events planned in Russellville
RUSSELLVILLE -- A pair of events are planned to celebrate Halloween in Russellville on Oct. 29 and 31.
The annual Russellville Community Center Halloween Social will be Saturday, Oct. 29.
Additionally, trick-or-treating hours in the town are 6-8 p.m. on Halloween, Monday, Oct. 31.
Serving of the evening meal at the Halloween Social will begin at 5 p.m. The menu will consist of chili, coneys, hot dogs, sloppy joes, nachos and cheese, fish, tenderloins, brownies and drinks.
Registration for the masquerade is scheduled 5:30-6:45 p.m.
Categories for the costumes prizes are best character, best Halloween character, animal, prettiest, ugliest, best couple or group, most original and miscellaneous.
There will be one $50 grand prize winner and a $25 reserve prize winner. Costume winners will be announced at 7 p.m.
This year, the carnival has 13 haunted games, including face painting, swamp pond, bingo, duck pond, football toss, toilet paper toss, ring toss, dice toss, ring a bat, witches brew, rope a ghost and the good old country store.
One addition this year is a pumpkin-carving contest. Participants must bring their pumpkin pre-carved. The pumpkin with the most money at the end of the evening wins.
The public is invited and encouraged to attend.
