County Jail

Two people were booked into the Putnam County Jail on Tuesday, Nov. 1.

* At 9:45 a.m. Nicholas Paul Owens, 20, Bainbridge, was lodged in the jail for probation violation.

* At 11:51 p.m. Brady Lee Simmons, 28, Crawfordsville, was booked for probation violation.

City Police

Two warrant arrests were reported by Greencastle City Police.

-- At 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, Jacob Alexander, 18, Greencastle, turned himself in at GPD headquarters and was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear in court. Alexander was then lodged in the Putnam County Jail.

-- At 3:35 p.m. Tuesday, Orville Langley, 37, Greencastle, was arrested by Sgt. Chris Jones at Seminary and Locust streets on a warrant in a theft case. Langley was then lodged in the Putnam County Jail.

One recent traffic citation was written by city officers.

-- At 12:02 p.m. Monday, Houston Cherry, 22, Putnamville, was stopped by Officer Eric Vaughan on Manhattan Road for an expired license plate.

City Fire

On Wednesday, Nov. 2 at 12:24 p.m. the Greencastle Fire Department responded to Humbert Hall, 208 E. Olive St. The alarm was caused by burnt food in a microwave. Cleared 12:41 p.m.
