Ridpath slates inaugural Holiday Bazaar Nov. 19

Monday, November 7, 2011

Are you a crafter who has contemplated turning your hobby into a business? Do you run a home business or sell products and you're looking for ways to get the word out?

The Ridpath Holiday Bazaar may be just the opportunity you've been looking for.

Ridpath Primary, located at 711 S. Central Ave., Greencastle, will be the site of the first Ridpath Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 19.

The event will feature both products and services. Admission is free to the public. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

According to Ridpath PTO President Angela Huff the event is a fundraiser for the school PTO, and the plan is to make it an annual event.

"One of our PTO moms brought the idea in, having learned about similar events in the Indianapolis area," Huff said.

"We felt like it was a winning situation for everyone involved. Local home-based businesses get to make community connections and sell products. Folks who are traditionally 'hobbyists' get to try their hand at an entrepreneurial venture for a low entry fee. Customers of the bazaar get some great options to jump-start their holiday shopping. And, of course, the PTO raises money for our school."

Booth rentals at the Ridpath Bazaar are still available.

A 6 x 8-foot booth rental is $30 for vendors selling products or taking orders. Information-only vendors who are distributing information or booking appointments may rent a space for only $15.

Interested parties should contact Amanda Dorsett at amandaddorsett@yahoo.com or by phone at 655-3498 by Nov. 10.
