Mildred Allen Reed

Mildred Allen Reed, 92, Corydon, passed away Friday, Nov. 18, 2011 in Greencastle.

She was born Jan. 15, 1919 to Mary and L.G. Allen in Casey County, Ky., and was preceded in death by her husband, Elvis L. Reed.

Mildred lived in Corydon from 1948 until 2007.

She was a member of the Corydon Christian Church for more than 60 years and was a valued employee of the Jay C store for more than 28 years.

Mildred is survived by daughters Valerie (William) Best of Greencastle and Lynnette (James) Enlow of Madison, Wis.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; six step great-grandchildren; and for step great-great-grandchildren.

Following a time for visitation at 1 p.m., a memorial service celebrating her life will be held at the Corydon Christian Church of Friday, Dec. 2 at 2 p.m. Burial will be private.
