Marilyn Ann Zimmerman, 79, Coatesville, passed away Monday, Dec. 5, 2011 in the St. Vincent Seton Specialty Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born Aug. 28, 1932 in Newport, she was the daughter of Oscar I. Kersey and Pyna E. (Plumber) Kersey. She married Charles Frank Zimmerman on May 18, 1957 and he survives.

Marilyn had worked as a loan officer for several banks. She had attended Indiana State University and was a member of the Eastern Star, where she had been Worthy Matron for a year.

Her hobbies included gardening, cooking, picking raspberries and blackberries, canning, in particular corn and tomatoes, and sharing these with friends. She also made sloppy joes and coney dogs for boys' basketball at Cascade Middle School.

Survivors in addition to her husband include four children, Greg Zimmerman and wife Sharon of California, Brent Zimmerman and wife Renata of Pittsboro, David Zimmerman and wife Donna of Evansville and Mindy Pieper and husband Allen of Indianapolis; six grandchildren, Preston and Logan Zimmerman of California, Nicole Zimmerman of Pittsboro, Ronnie Watson of Indianapolis and Christan and Tyler Zimmerman of Evansville; and brother Marvin E. Kersey of Lanesville.

Her parents and an infant brother preceded her in death.

Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 9 from 4-8 p.m. at the Bousley-Hays Funeral Home in Coatesville. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Paul Bowen officiating. Burial will follow in the Stilesville Cemetery.
