Bill Hutson of Table Talk Ministries has been chosen by the Indianapolis Colts to receive another in a growing list of community service awards.

On Thursday, Dec. 22, during the Indianapolis Colts home game against the Houston Texans, Hutson will be honored as an "Indianapolis Colts Anthem Angel."

He will be a VIP guest at that game and will be honored at half-time on the field as well as in the Colts' program magazine Scout and on the Colts' website.

Hutson is the founder and director of Table Talk Ministries, a non-profit organization located in Greencastle that makes free home repairs for the elderly and the disabled in an effort to bring their homes back up to a livable standard.

One reason behind the awards and recognition Hutson receives is that he pays for most of the repairs out of his own pocket as well as being present at every project for Table Talk Ministries. While alone that would be a challenge for most, Hutson also drives a truck full time and is away from home all week.

"I've worked many 110-hour weeks, and I've had some weeks where I've spent more on the weekend repairing a home than I made during that week driving the truck," Hutson said.

He started helping folks in 2002 and officially in 2006 formed Table Talk Foundation for Better Living Inc., receiving a 501c3 from the IRS considering the organization a public charity and making donations tax-deductible.

Table Talk conducts business as Table Talk Ministries and has now grown to have clients all over the country.

Hutson and Table Talk Ministries have received awards and recognition from TV stations in Indianapolis and Terre Haute; radio stations from Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio and Sirrius/Xm satellite radio networks; Citgo Fueling Good award winner 2009; countless newspapers from across the Midwest; and several industry specific trucking magazines.

  • He was working on my house last year on Christmas day because I had no heat. Why are we not honoring him here?

I had gotten 2 months behind! Here comes Bill and Pam knocking on my door and give me the 500.That I so much needed to pay habitat,to keep my home! Never wanted a cent back! They are both ANGELS in my book! The thing about it is they are just common people! We love you both! Maybe you can bring the COLTS some good luck when you go up there!
