Patricia Arburn Carey Aikin

Patricia Arburn Carey Aikin, Indianapolis and Coatesville, was born Nov. 25, 1926 and died Jan. 19, 2012, in Brownsburg.

She was the daughter of Mary Ruth Arburn Carey and Arthur Elias Carey (both deceased).

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack William Aikin, and siblings, Mary Ruth Carey Beaning, Dr. Joan Carey Beaning and Joseph Carey.

She is survived by her son, Jack R. Aikin (Julia Ann Dake), and granddaughters Olivia J. Zedrick, and April J. Fase' (Dan), and step-granddaughter Lauren Dake Yamamoto, (Kentoku) and great-sons Michael A. Zedrick IV and Benjamin Fase'.

A graduate of Shortridge High School, she attended William Woods College and Butler University.

An accomplished office assistant, she worked for many years for Herff Jones Co., F.C. Tucker Realty and Barrett and Stokeley Realty.

After retirement, she and her husband lived at Heritage Lake where she volunteered for Hendricks County Senior Services and Canaan Community Church of Coatesville.
