GHS JV falls in final game of season

MONROVIA -- The Greencastle junior varsity girls' basketball team lost to Monrovia 34-27 Tuesday in the final game of the season. Greencastle ends the season with the record of 11-7.

Sydney Smiley and Taylor Stoltey led the Tiger Cubs with eight points each, with Delanie Stoltey and Jessica Lenihan adding five points each. Melody White chipped in one point.

"The team worked hard all season long and we became a better basketball team," head coach Matthew Welker said. "This is a very talented group of basketball players, if they continue to work hard, the future looks bright for Greencastle High School girls' basketball."

Welker said he and coach Mike Chadd were pleased with the Tiger Cubs' season.
