Gertrude L. Hoffa

Gertrude L. Hoffa, 96, Cloverdale, passed away on Monday, Feb. 20, 2012 at The Waters of Greencastle.

She was born on May 12, 1915 in Marion County, and was the daughter of the late Theophilus "Theo" and Lula Katherine (O'Banion) Murray.

She married Dorsey Williamson Hoffa on March 25, 1932, and he preceded her in death on Oct.18, 1983.

She was a homemaker and a member of Amity Baptist Church, Cloverdale.

She is survived by her son, Norman Hoffa and wife Anita, Cloverdale; her brother, Wallace G. Murray and wife Mary, Indianapolis; her grandsons, Terry F. Hoffa and wife Linda, Cloverdale, and Chris D. Hoffa and wife Regina, Cloverdale; five great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25 at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale, with Rev. John Nees officiating. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Cloverdale Cemetery.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy E. Timmons; her brothers, Lester B. Murray and Raymond E. Murray; and her stepmother, Meta Murray.
