Barbara Anna Bannon, 80, Crawfordsville, formerly of Parkersburg, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Williamsburg Healthcare, Crawfordsville.

She was born March 27, 1931, in New Ross, Ind., to Oran F. and June (Duzane) Tharp.

She married Max M. Bannon on Nov.18, 1951, in New Ross. He preceded her in death in 2008.

Mrs Bannon was a farm wife and had worked for a short time at RR Donnelley's, Crawfordsville.

She attended 11 years of school and was a 1949 graduate of New Ross High School.

She was a member of the Parkersburg Christian Church, Double Duzzins Club, Parkersburg Christian Church Ladies Aid and Square Busters Square Dancing Club.

In her free time she also enjoyed crafts, knitting, sewing and reading.

She is survived by her children, Mike Bannon, Denver, Colo., Dennis (Cindy) Bannon, Parkersburg, and Linda (MIke) Johnson, Crawfordsville.

Also surviving are five grandchildren, Mindy (Tyler) Nichols, Steven Johnson, Kyle (Haylee) Bannon, Mallory (Kyle) Kessler and Jason Bannon: five great-grandchildren, Carter, Clay, Claire Kessler, Hattie Bannon and Baynx Sterling.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Carolyn Jean Smith and Helen Louise White.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 7 at the Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, 315 S. Washington St., Crawfordsville, with Rev. Rich Fuller officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Grant Avenue Cemetery, Crawfordsville.

Visitation will be at the funeral home 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 6. Memorials may be made to Parkersburg Christian Church, 86 E. 1150 South, Ladoga, IN 47954.
