Richard Eugene 'Dick' Lawson

Richard Eugene "Dick" Lawson, 79, of Bainbridge, passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2012.

He was born on Jan. 13, 1933 in Danville to Robert Lawson and Clarel Myers Lawson.

Dick served his country in the National Guard.

He was a member of Hazelwood Christian Church.

Mr. Lawson was a lifetime farmer, growing both grain and livestock, and had helped his parents run Lawson's Market in downtown Danville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Russell Lawson and John Lawson; a son, Todd Lawson and grandson, Jeffrey Brent Lawson.

Surviving are his wife, Marian A. Lawson; two sons, Jeffrey Lawson and wife Julie of Linden and Chad Lawson and wife Heather of Bainbridge; five grandchildren, Sarah Lawson of Lafayette, Chris Lawson and wife Erika of Linden, Michael Lawson of Greencastle, Ian Lawson and Mackinley Lawson, both of Bainbridge; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 11 at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Pastor Stevan Ranson officiating. Interment with honors will follow at Bainbridge Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
