City Police

One drug-related arrest was reported early Friday by Greencastle City Police.

Donald Pearson, 47, Greencastle, was arrested by Reserve Officer Heath Smiley at 12:01 a.m. Friday on Martinsville Street near the Johnson-Nichols Clinic for possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.

Pearson was lodged in the Putnam County Jail.

Four recent property-damage accidents were investigated by GPD officers.

-- At 1:40 a.m. Friday, a one-car mishap occurred on East Washington Street, just west of Bloomington Street, as Cassandra Glaze, 34, Russellville, turned westbound and one of the tires on her 1998 Hyundai blew, causing the car to run off the road.

The car struck the curb and ran up into the yard at 415 E. Washington St., Officer Matt Huffman reported.

Damage was estimated at $1,000-$2,500.

-- At 7:23 p.m. Wednesday, a two-car accident was reported at Veterans Highway and Percy Julian Drive.

The collision involved a 2000 Subaru, driven by Kandice Neeley, 40, Indianapolis, and a 1998 Mercury, driven by Matthew Swager, 26, Greencastle.

Officer Jeff Modlin estimated total damage at $1,000-$2,500.

-- At 3:07 p.m. Tuesday, a two-vehicle accident was reported at State Road 240 and Calbert Way.

Daniel Bennett, 23, Fillmore, was eastbound on 240, riding a 2005 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, when he was struck by a 1996 Chevrolet pickup truck, driven by Ronald Dunbar, 54, Reelsville, police said.

Dunbar told Officer Modlin he did not see the motorcycle when he pulled out onto 240.

-- At 4:46 p.m. March 2, a two-vehicle accident was reported on the Dollar General parking lot off Indianapolis Road.

Colliding in the lot were a 2002 Pontiac, driven by Avelina Gorham, 52, Greencastle, and a 1998 Ford F150 truck, driven by Sarah Monce, 33, Brazil.

Total damage in the accident was listed at $1,000-$2,500.

Monce was ticketed for having an expired license plate from August 2011.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to a call of a loose animal at 8:57 p.m. on Thursday, March 8.

A pet snake was loose inside a chair at 308 Ohio St. Fire personnel used the department's thermal camera to locate the reptile in the chair.

Once the animal was located, the owner recovered the unharmed snake from the chair.

County Jail

A number of people were booked into the Putnam County Jail on Thursday, March 8.

* At 1:25 p.m. Jeffery Eretious King, 42, Greencastle, was housed at the jail for probation violation.

* At 6 p.m. Joshua Hickman, 24, Poland, was arrested for probation violation.

* At 8:38 p.m. Adam Christian Whitaker, 29, Cloverdale, was held at the jail for battery with bodily injury.

* At 9:15 p.m. Michelle LeeAnn Robbins, 32, Cloverdale, was booked in for probation violation.

* At 10:47 p.m. Caleb Joshua Young, 21, Greencastle, was housed at the jail for probation violation.

* At 11:55 p.m. David Andrew Burger, 47, Coatesville, was arrested for probation violation.
