Greencastle community garden plots now available

Thursday, March 15, 2012

More than a dozen community garden plots are still available for the 2012 growing season, Mayor Sue Murray has announced.

The 4x8 garden plots are available for only $5.

The Greencastle Community Garden is located in the City Hall overflow parking lot off Franklin Street. Those interested in renting a plot for the 2012 growing year can begin planting once his or her application has been accepted.

The community garden is open from dawn until dusk every day during the growing season. Clean-up of rental spaces must be done Nov. 30.

Groups may collectively rent a plot, however, one individual must be selected as the plot holder. You can sign and return the contract to the Mayor's Office at Greencastle City Hall. Contracts are also available on the city's website, cityofgreencastle.com.

For more information, persons may contact Bruce Sanders, this year's garden director, at rsanders@depauw.edu or by phone at 653-2735.
