County Jail

On Wednesday, April 4 at 12:15 a.m. Warren K. Kelly, 44, Greencastle, was booked into the Putnam County Jail for operating while intoxicated with a prior conviction.

City Police

One theft arrest was reported Tuesday by Greencastle City Police officers.

-- At 3:25 p.m., Madonna Owens, 24, Coatesville, was arrested by Officer Darrel Bunten for an alleged theft at the Walmart store.

Police said the case involved Owens, an employee at the time, reportedly taking coupons that had been redeemed and reusing them for her own purpose. Total loss was listed by Walmart at $104.26.

Owens was lodged in the Putnam County Jail.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department has responded to a number of recent dispatches.

* On Sunday, April 1 at 9:31 p.m. personnel rescued a cat in a storm drain. Cleared 9:41 p.m.

* On Monday, April 2 at 8:59 a.m. GFD responded to a natural gas leak at 4342 S. CR 125 East. The Putnam County Highway Department hit a 1-inch gas line while digging. GFD stood by until Vectren arrived. Cleared 9:34 a.m.

* On Tuesday, April 3 at 1:47 a.m. crews were dispatched to 916 S. College Ave. but were disregarded at 1:51 a.m.

At 11:08 a.m. GFD responded to an alarm at 504 E. Seminary St. No reason for the alarm was found. Cleared 11:16 a.m.

At 12:22 p.m. crews performed a medical assist at 79 Ridgeland Rd. Cleared 12:36 p.m.

At 6:38 p.m. GFD responded to 650 E. Walnut St. for a medical assist on a person injured working with a garden tiller. Cleared 6:48 p.m.

At 10:53 p.m. personnel assisted Operation Life at 1124 Houck Rd. Cleared 11:13 p.m.

* On Wednesday, April 4 at 7:02 a.m. crews assisted with a motor vehicle accident at Veterans Highway and Percy Julian Drive. Cleared 7:19 a.m.

At 11:44 a.m. GFD responded to a motor vehicle accident at 709 S. Locust St. Cleared 12 p.m.
