City Police

An accident Wednesday on the DePauw University campus resulted in an estimated $10,000-$25,000 damage, Greencastle City Police reported.

Officer Ed Wilson reported that Carrol Pingleton, 56, Greencastle, was southbound on South Locust Street, driving a 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue, when the vehicle veered to the right and struck two cars parked along the curb near Olive Street.

Damaged were a 2006 BMW, owned by Charles Farber, Columbus, and a 1998 Cadillac, owned by Ginger Scott, Greencastle.

Police said the Pingleton car struck the BMW, and then, continuing southound despite a flat tire, struck the Scott car.

Pingleton was transported to Putnam County Hospital following the 11:45 a.m. accident.
