South Putnam's Emily Dabkowski heads for third for a triple in Monday's game against Cascade.

South Putnam welcomed conference foe Cascade Monday and added another win to its season, defeating the Cadets 4-1.

After Cascade opened the game with a first inning run, South Putnam answered the challenge. Emily Dabkowski took Kellie Mink's fifth pitch of the game and sent a high shot rocketing to right field. Cascade's Morgan Burch wasn't able to haul in the ball and Dabkowski found her way to third base to start the game.

Three pitches later, Jenny Thompson's single brought Dabkowski home to tie the game 1-all. The Cadets committed two first inning errors and it was a trend that continued through the game.

Starting pitcher Brooke Boetjer didn't allow the Cadets on the board for the remainder of the game. She pitched a complete game, allowing four hits and struck out eight batters.

South Putnam took the lead in the third inning. Makenzie Trisler reached on a walk, with Kesley Whitaker joining her on base after being hit by a pitch. The errors once again hurt the Cadets when a ball dropped in centerfield to score Trisler.

Two big hits in the fourth inning built on the Eagles' lead to give them a 3-1 edge. Dabkowski hit a triple to right field and was plated when Thompson followed with a double to right-center field. South Putnam added another run in the bottom of the sixth to give them a 4-1 edge and all the cushion it needed.

Dabkowski was 2-for-3 with a triple, double and scored twice, while Thompson added two doubles and two RBI.

On Tuesday, South Putnam completed its sweep of Cascade with a dominant 16-4 victory in six innings.

Boetjer was 3-for-4 with a grand slam, a double and five RBI. Jenna Jones added a home run and an RBI. Thompson was 4-for-4 with three RBI and scored three times, with Whitaker adding two doubles.

Mattie Varvel and Dabkowsi added doubles in the win. Janet Crafton chipped in two RBI and Brooke Cundiff had one RBI. Trisler scored twice for South Putnam.

Kaylin Yon pitched six innings, with seven strikeouts and allowed nine hits.

South Putnam will travel to Edgewood Thursday at 5 p.m.
