Mary Isabelle Frame Luzar

Mary Isabelle Frame Luzar, 91, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at her home on the family farm near Cloverdale.

Born in Ladoga on Sept. 24, 1920, Isabelle was the daughter of the late Bertie Frantz and Mary Rebecca (Davis) Frame.

Mary Isabelle graduated from Roachdale High School in 1937 and with her mother, managed Frame Nursing Home in Indianapolis.

On Aug. 3, 1946 she married Louis J. Luzar of Indianapolis and together they raised five children, Louis, Mary Anne, Jane, Pat and Jim on their Cloverdale family farm.

Mary Isabelle was employed by DePauw University for a number of years in residence life, where she especially enjoyed meeting visiting speakers and "adopting" international students for holidays.

Isabelle took great pleasure in her many flower gardens which contain perennials from friends, relatives, and neighbors. In her later years, she enjoyed company and her flowers from her beautiful front porch.

She is survived by her brother, Phil Frame and wife Colleen of Indianapolis; her children, Louis F. Luzar of Cloverdale, Mary Anne Tattersall and husband William of Falls Creek, Va., E. Jane Luzar of Indianapolis, Patrick J. Luzar and wife Denise of Tucson, Ariz. and James C. Luzar of Cloverdale; her grandchildren, Jeff Luzar and wife Cilene, Amy Luzar, Ales Luzar and Mary Isabelle Tattersall; and several nieces and nephews.

A loving person who lived a rich and full life, she will be celebrated yet missed by friends and family.

Mary Isabelle was preceded in death by her husband Louis on Nov. 28, 2000, her parents, Mary and Bertie, a sister Emma Gray, and a brother Bert Frame.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 14 at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until service time. Interment will be in the Cloverdale Cemetery.
