Sheriff's Department

* On Saturday, April 14 at 3:51 a.m. Anthony C. Bauers, 29, Brazil, was northbound on County Road 900 West in a 1992 Ford Ranger.

Bauers lost control and his truck left the road on the east side.

The truck went into a deep ditch and came to rest on its side. Bauers was able to get out of the vehicle and began walking up the road, where he was later found by a deputy.

Bauers tested at .18 percent blood-alcohol content on the portable breath test and later tested a .19 on the certified test at the Putnam County Jail.

He was booked into the jail at 5:45 a.m. on charges of operating while intoxicated with a prior conviction, operating while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of at least .15, false informing and for being a habitual traffic violator.

Damage caused by the accident is estimated between $750 and $1,000.

County Jail

Several people have been booked into the Putnam County Jail recently.

* On Friday, April 13 at 3 p.m. Levi Benjamin Hirsch, 26, Greencastle, was housed at the jail for operating while intoxicated with a prior conviction.

* On Saturday, April 14 at 12:17 a.m. Wendie Ann Ingram-Trout, 44, Greencastle, was arrested for operating while intoxicated and possession of a controlled substance.

At 3:02 a.m. Cameron Vincent Bryan, 18, Canton, Mass., was held at the jail for public intoxication and being a minor in consumption of alcohol.

* On Sunday, April 15 at 1:35 a.m. Heather Lynn Buster, 30, Indianapolis, was booked in for operating while intoxicated and possession of a controlled substance.

At 5:38 a.m. Dustin Eugene Henry, 30, Roachdale, was housed at the jail for public intoxication, resisting law enforcement, battery on law enforcement, disorderly conduct disturbing the peace and probation violation.

At 7:35 p.m. Kyle Lee Reed, 29, Indianapolis, was arrested for operating while intoxicated with a prior conviction.

City Police

Another recent theft was investigated by Greencastle City Police officers at the Greencastle Walmart superstore.

-- At 8:55 p.m. Sunday, Hanna Spivey, 21, Greencastle, was arrested and lodged in the Putnam County Jail after allegedly taking $72.69 worth of miscellaneous merchandise.

Officer Eric Vaughan's report indicated she took women's clothing and infant clothing back to the lawn and garden area and attempted to conceal the items in her purse.

City Police made one alcohol-related arrest over the weekend.

-- At 12:25 a.m. Saturday, Carol McKown, 59, Indianapolis, was arrested by Officer Vaughan on State Road 240 for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

McKown, who was lodged in the Putnam County Jail, tested .091 percent under portable breathalyzer testing (PBT).

In other GPD activity, Officer Jeff Modlin cited Christopher McCurdy, 27, Poland, after stopping his vehicle at 1:04 p.m. Monday in front of FB Distro on Indianapolis Road.

McCurdy was cited for driving with a suspended license with a prior offense and for operating a motor vehicle without financial responsibility (no insurance).

Officer Vaughan issued two other citations recently.

-- At 8:24 p.m. Saturday, Zachary Ashby, 19, Indianapolis, was cited on Fillmore Road for having a false or fictitious registration.

-- At 7:39 p.m. Friday, John McCammack, 17, Fillmore, was ticketed for 56 mph in a 30-mph zone on Fillmore Road.
