South Putnam moves to 12-0 with sweep
The South Putnam softball remained perfect after winning a double-header against Monrovia Tuesday. South Putnam won the first game 12-0 and took the second by a score of 5-0.
In game one, Emily Dabkowski was 2-for-3 with two RBI and three runs scored for the Eagles, while Jenny Thompson was 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI and three runs scored. Kelsey Whitaker and Mattie Varvel had two RBI each and Whitaker, Varvel and Jenna Jones scored one run each.
Starting pitcher Brooke Boetjer pitched a complete game one-hitter. She had three strikeouts. She was also 4-for-4 at the plate with a double, two RBI and one run scored.
South Putnam continued to impose its will on the Bulldogs in game two behind a strong game from Kaylin Yon. Yon pitched a complete game no-hitter and struck out 10 batters.
Boetjer had two RBI for South Putnam, with Dabkowski and Thompson adding an RBI each. Varvel recorded a triple and a run scored.
South Putnam will host Eminence Thursday at 5 p.m.
