South Putnam boys win tri-meet

The South Putnam boys' track and field team cruised to victory on Tuesday, hosting a three-team Shakamak and Clay City. South Putnam finished with 87 points, well ahead of Clay City (58) and Shakamak (22).

South Putnam had first-place finishes in nine events. Tyler Neumann won the 110-meter hurdles and 400. Ryan Chestnut won the shot put and discus.

Klayton Vittetow won the 300-meter hurdles, with Hunter Barr winning the 800-meter run. Ben Fiest won the 200-meter dash, while Trent Workman won the pole vault.

South Putnam also won the 400-meter relay.

In the event, the first four finishers scored points for their team. The Eagles swept the shot put, had three scorers in the discus and 400, and had two scorers each in the 110 hurdles, 100, 200, 800, high jump and long jump.
