Zach Lapidus Trio to play Jazz at the Duck
Jazz at the Duck will welcome the Zach Lapidus Trio to the Fluttering Duck from 8:30-10:30 p.m. this evening.
The trio features Lapidus on piano, Fred Withrow on bass and Greg Artry on drums.
Lapidus is a pianist, composer and arranger currently living in the Indianapolis area. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in jazz studies from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in 2008 and was awarded the prestigious Performer's Certificate for an outstanding recital.
He was also selected to study at Ravinia's Stearns Institute for Young Artists. He has studied with David Baker, Luke Gillespie, Jon McLaughlin, Joanna Hodges, Rufus Reid, James Moody and Nathan Davis.
Lapidus has appeared throughout Indianapolis, as well as the North Sea Jazz Festival, Indy Jazz Fest and the North Texas Jazz Festival. He was a finalist in the 2010-2011 American Pianist Association Jazz Fellowship Awards.
