Cloverdale Farmers Market plans pre-market activities

Monday, May 7, 2012

While the opening of the Cloverdale Farmers Market isn't until Saturday, June 30 several activities are taking place on the market property.

An upcoming event is the second garden plant and flower sale, May 12 from 9 a.m.-noon. Garden enthusiasts who have grown their own garden plants will have their abundance and/or flowers to sell to the public.

Watch for additional activities as they come available for May and June until the market opens.

The Cloverdale Farmers Market and its activities are held at Logan and Lafayette streets in Cloverdale. There is no setup fee for gardeners who wish to participate. Wholesale produce may not be sold. Garden produce must be grown in Putnam County to be sold at the market. The only allowance is the sale of Indiana melons and fruits.

Market hours are 8 a.m. until noon. Each vendor provides his or her own tables and canopy.

Questions about the market or its activities may be directed to Judy Whitaker at 795-6211. Cloverdale Main Street is sponsor of the Cloverdale Farmers Market.
