GMS girls' win County Meet

ROACHDALE -- The Greencastle Middle School girls' cross country team won the Putnam County meet Thursday at North Putnam. The Tiger Cubs won with a tally of 90, followed by North Putnam with 44, South Putnam with 41 and Cloverdale with 25.

Greencastle's Katerina King won the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.6 and the 200-meter dash with a time of 29.0. King also won the long jump with a distance of 14-3. Allison White won the high jump with a height of 4-6, while Kaitlin Haynes won the 2,400-meter run with a personal best 9:51.2.

Corrie Romer won the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:07.2, while Hannah Brattain ran a personal best time of 2:45.9 in the 800-meter run.

The 400-meter relay team of Amelia Smith, Romer, Bailey Zapp and King won with a time of 57.2, while the team of Naomi Farkass, Brattain, Smith and Romer won the 1,600-meter relay with a time of 4:49.
