Deadline approaching to purchase tickets for Area Day Senior Citizens Picnic

Forest Park in Brazil will be alive with the sounds of Area Day Senior Citizens Picnic on Friday, May 25. The event is sponsored by Area 7 Agency of Aging and Disabled.

Tickets are $8 and are available to be purchased by people aged 50 and older. They must be bought in advance before May 18.

The ticket price includes a goodie bag, lunch, snacks, small games, door prizes, entertainment and opportunity to visit service/product information booths.

The picnic will last from 10 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.

Entertainment includes Bruce Borders returning to the stage to perform "Tribute to Elvis," Melony Brown singing and karaoke.

Lunch will be donated by Sunset Harbor and include ham and cheese subs, kidney bean salad, chips and brownies. There will also be ice cream and popcorn provided by other contributors.

Sunset Harbor, which includes Meadows Home Health Care, Meadows Manor North, Meadows Manor East and Canon Inn, is the platinum sponsor for the event. Nurse Care Inc. is the gold sponsor.

To purchase a ticket, customers are requested to send check or money orders payable to WCIEDD Inc., along with a request form, to Area Day Reservations, 1718 Wabash Avenue, Terre Haute, Ind., 47897.

Tickets can also be purchased in the office located at that address, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. No ticket costs will be refunded after May 14.

For an additional $8, round-trip van transportation is available in Parke, Vermillion and Vigo counties on a first come, first served basis. Transportation reservations can be made by calling (812) 232-2675 or (800) 489-1561, ext. 248, or by indicating on the form.

This fee must also be paid before May 18.
