TERRE HAUTE -- The Cloverdale boys' golf team placed second in a tri-meet against Terre Haute South and White River Valley. Cloverdale's score of 194 was only bested by the Braves' 158. White River Valley was third with 232.

Freddy Fislar led the Clovers with a 46, followed by Zach Hall with 48 and Aaron Whitlock with 49. Brody Pfaff shot 51, with Rylan Mattocks adding 54 and Cody Atwood a 56.

"We had a long layoff from the end of school, graduation and the holiday. While all of that may have clouded our focus, that shouldn't happen. We did not bring very good focus and our scores certainly reflect that," CHS head coach Doug Wokoun said.

"Freddy is making steady improvement, and his round was another step forward," Wokoun said. "Even though Rea Park is a pretty open course, we managed to find the obstacles out there. We only had one match last week and only one this week, which is not conducive to being well-prepared for the sectional next Monday."

Wokoun said his team will spend the rest of the week prepping for next week's sectional.
