Marcie Lorraine Barnett

Marcie Lorraine Barnett of Greencastle passed away at noon Friday, June 1, 2012 in The Waters of Greencastle. She was 80.

Mrs. Barnett was a member of the Women's Guild of Putnam County. She was a volunteer with the Red Cross through the guild and also volunteered at the Putnam County Hospital.

She was a homemaker and worked at DePauw University for a time. She was a member of the amateur HAM radio club.

Born Nov. 28, 1931 in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of George Henry Carver and Goldie Montana Keightley Carver Smith.

She married Mitchell D. Barnett, and he survives.

Additional survivors include three children, son George Leroy (Arlene) Trueblood of Staunton, Ind., daughter Sylvia Elizabeth (Raymond) Gauthier of Hillsboro and son Dwight Douglas (Connie) Trueblood of Greencastle; three stepchildren, Donald (Jenny) Barnett of Greencastle, Annetta Webb of Carrollton, Ga., and Randy (Michelle) Barnett of Greencastle, 22 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren as well as a foster brother, Rex.

Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Burkhart Funeral Home, Crawfordsville.

Private family services were held Sunday afternoon at New Hope Fellowship in Greencastle.
