Get ready for more I-70 roadwork starting Monday

Friday, June 8, 2012

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has announced a resurfacing project on Interstate 70 in Putnam and Clay counties will begin next week.

The affected area for lane restrictions will be from just under six miles east of State Road 59 in Clay County to three miles west of State Road 243 in Putnam County.

INDOT says the work will begin on or after Monday, June 11.

The state awarded the project to Rieth-Riley Construction, Indianapolis, for $6.3 million.

The I-70 project will have lane restrictions in the area the contractor will be working on the interstate. The resurfacing project is scheduled for completion at the end of July.

INDOT reminds drivers to use caution and consider worker safety when driving through a construction zone.
