Florence A. Barber, 91, of Bellaire, Fla., died Sunday, June 17 at Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater, Fla.

Born Sept. 12, 1920 in Detroit, Mich., she was the daughter of Arthur and Rose Zimmerman Alve.

Florence was a homemaker and a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church, Largo, Fla.

She was active in the Grosse Pointe (Mich.) Symphony and a former member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Detroit.

She married her husband of 56 years, the late Elmer L. Barber, and he died Jan 13, 2000.

Florence is survived by her son, Rev. Alan (Diane) Barber of Greencastle; two grandsons David (Jayme) Barber and Jonathan (Melissa) Barber; and two great-grandchildren, Kevin and Kaitlyn Barber.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 20 at Christ the King Lutheran Church, Largo.

Friends and family may call 1-2 p.m. Wednesday at the church before the service. Burial will be in Serenity Gardens Memorial Park, Largo, Fla.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Peace Lutheran Church in Greencastle.
