Wednesday, June 27, 2012

Local health and emergency officials will have a cooling shelter set up for the expected high temperatures on Thursday and Friday.

Putnam County Emergency 911 Director Dave Costin told the Banner Graphic the shelter will be in place during daylight hours at the Putnam County Hospital main waiting room lobby.

The local chapter of the American Red Cross will also provide bottled water.

The National Weather Service forecasts the temperature for Greencastle to top out right around the 100-degree mark on both Thursday and Friday.
