Nick Zimmerman wins Super Stock Rally title

On July 21, Nick Zimmerman of Cloverdale won the World Championship Soap Box Derby race in Akron, OH for Super Stock Rally Division. He also received the award for the fastest heat of the day in the Super Stock division.

The World Championship Soap Box Derby is held once a year with 500-600 participants from all over the globe. Zimmerman won many first place trophies at rallies throughout the year to earn the points required to participate in this event.

During the final heat of the day, the chant "My name Nick" could be heard throughout the stands from his family and friends at the event.

Zimmerman is 14-years-old and will be a freshman at Cloverdale this fall. He has been racing for six years in Stock, Super Stock and Master Divisions.

He has gone to the World Championship races in Akron four times, three times as a Rally Champion and once as the 2011 Indianapolis Super Stock Local Champion. Zimmerman was also the Top Gun Champion in Cleveland, OH for Stock Division in 2009.

Indianapolis Soap Box Derby racers brought home a total of seven top nine positions in the World Champion Soap Box derby races. They also brought home fastest heat trophies for Stock and Super Stock Divisions.
