Rokita to hold town hall meeting in Danville on Monday

Saturday, August 4, 2012

U.S. Rep. Todd Rokita will hold a town hall meeting on Monday, Aug. 6, at the Hendricks County 4-H Fairgrounds in Danville.

Constituents are invited to hear directly from Rokita and participate in a discussion about critical issues facing Indiana and the nation, including the need to reform the tax code.

The meeting is set for 6:30-8 p.m. at the Hendricks County Fairgrounds, 1900 E. Main St. (U.S. 36), Danville.

"Just this week, I voted to pass a bill that would stop the tax hike that threatens to hit thousands of Hoosier families and small businesses at the end of the year. Beyond that, we need to have a broader national discussion about reforming our tax code to make it simpler, flatter and fairer," Rokita said. "I look forward to productive discussions with Hoosiers about these and other critical issues facing our republic."

Last week, Rokita held Congress on Your Corner events in Monticello and Frankfort to discuss local and national issues with constituents.

Additionally, the Find a Book a Home Foundation, established by young constituent Carah Austin, will be collecting donations of gently used books for adults and children. The foundation is especially in need of children's books.

Constituents who wish to contribute books may bring them to the event on Monday.
