County Jail

On Wednesday, Aug. 22 at 1:26 p.m. Jason Aaron Young, 42, Greencastle, was booked into the Putnam County Jail for domestic battery and strangulation.

City Police

Two citations were written Wednesday by Greencastle City Police officers.

-- At 5:32 p.m., Tony Hastings, Quincy, 28, was ticketed on Shadowlawn Avenue by Officer Jeff Modlin for having an expired license plate (no expiration date available).

-- At 1:20 p.m., Leeann Allee, 36, Bainbridge, was cited at Bloomington Street and Broadway by Officer Albert Epple for an infraction of driving with a suspended license.

Sheriff's Department

On Wednesday, Aug. 22 at 6:43 a.m. Darren P. Sons, 42, Russellville, was eastbound on State Road 236, driving a 1998 Honda Accord when he hit a deer.

Damage was estimated at $2,501-$5,000.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department were dispatched several times recently.

* On Wednesday, Aug. 21 at 3:15 p.m. fire crews were requested to standby at the station for a possible structure fire in Cloverdale. They were told to stand down at 3:19 p.m.

At 4:29 p.m. a crew was sent to 107 S. College Ave. for a medical lift assist conducted by Operation Life. They were in service at 4:36 p.m.

* On Thursday, Aug. 22 at 11:57 workers were sent to 239 Hillsdale for a fire alarm. They returned at noon.

At 1:48 p.m. fire officials went to the Greencastle Moose Lodge located at 212 W. Franklin for a fire alarm that was set off during construction. The crew returned to service at 2:02 p.m.
