Jazz at the Duck flies back to town for the season

Amid a number of late-summer concert events around Greencastle, DePauw Jazz at the Duck will make its return for the semester on Thursday evening.

The opening night performance will be from DePauw Faculty Jazz, featuring Randy Salman on saxophone, Dan Foster on trumpet, Sandy Williams on guitar, Jack Helsley on bass and Art Reiner on drums.

Bill Hamm '73, will be featured as a special guest on bass.

Jazz at the Duck runs from 8:30-10:30 p.m. each week at the Inn at DePauw's Fluttering Duck. All shows are free and open to the public.

Upcoming shows in the series will feature jam sessions on Sept. 6 and 13, Kelleen Strutz on Sept. 20 and the Paul Kirk Quartet on Sept. 27.

Additional shows for the semester will be announced when they are scheduled.

  • Jazz at the Duck is a wonderful gift that The Inn at DePauw and DePauw University gives to the local community and DePauw students and faculty. Great to have top notch musicians perform in concert at the Duck. And the jam sessions give the students the chance to try out their chops. Win, win.
