North Putnam finishes second in tri-match
CRAWFORDSVILLE -- The North Putnam girls' golf team placed second in a three-way match with Tri-West and Crawfordsville Tuesday. The Bruins were first with a score of 230, followed by North Putnam's 235 and Crawfordsville's 240.
Emmy Rees led the Cougar charge with a 56. Ellen Wilborn and Josie Parent, posting scores of 57 and 58, respectively, closely followed her. Jessie Cox and Olivia Zarate carded rounds of 64.
"There has to be more pars in the scorecards to get down to where the team wants to be at this time," Cougars Linda Patrick said. "Struggles still arise with too many penalties and bad club choices."
Patrick said the team battle perhaps the fastest greens all season, which caused extra strokes during their round.
North Putnam will host Cascade today at 4:30 p.m.
