Cougars defeat Eels in four sets

ROACHDALE -- The North Putnam volleyball team defeated Eminence in four sets Tuesday 25-22, 15-25, 25-23 and 25-22.

Bethany Wiatt had 16 points along with four digs. Katie Welch added nine points and 11 kills, with Shay Lucas chipping in four digs. Taylor Nauert had two blocks for the Cougars.

"We started out strong but lost momentum in the second game," Cougars head coach Jill Schreiber said. "We are doing things well, but lack some experience. We are getting better with each game. Our confidence is not where it needs to be."

North Putnam will host South Putnam tonight with the junior varsity starting at 6 p.m.
