Cloverdale notches seventh win with three set victory over Turkey Run
CLOVERDALE -- The Cloverdale volleyball team netted its seventh win of the season with a three set win over Turkey Run Tuesday 25-7, 25-19 and 25-13. The win pushed the Clovers' record to 7-0 this season.
Taylor Jones had 11 points, eight kills, one ace and 12 digs for the Clovers. Bristy Skiles added nine points, three kills and five digs, with Paige Gruener chipping in nine points, seven kills and six digs.
Bradanne Toney recorded two points, 15 kills, 12 digs and two blocks, while Lindsay Robson contributed seven points, two aces and eight digs. Jessica Winders had one point and one dig and Megan Helterbrand had one dig. Ali Nees added three points on the night.
"We had some great scores tonight. Everybody hustled for the ball," CHS head coach Kathy Moore said.
In the junior varsity match, Cloverdale lost to the Warriors in three sets. After capturing the first set 25-15, the Clovers dropped the second 25-23 and lost the final set 15-11. The loss runs Cloverdale's record to 4-3 on the season.
Moore said her team is looking forward to tonight's match on the road against county and conference rival Greencastle.
Cloverdale will travel to Greencastle tonight with the junior varsity getting things going at 6 p.m.
